Sophie Ables Baker, President, Director of Investments & Advisory Services, Trust Specialist

Sophie has spent the last three decades helping people reach their investments goals. She began her career at Frost Johnson and Smith in Charleston, SC. She then moved to the Boston office of Dean, Witter, Reynolds and later became Senior Sales Trader for Paine Webber. Sophie opened the Boston office of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette where she was an Institutional Bond Trader and Equity Trader covering banks and insurance companies in the US and Canada. In 1987, Sophie and her family returned to her husband’s native Maine where she continued to focus on long-term investing at A.G. Edwards. It was there she met her business partner, Nancy Callan. In 2006, Sophie and Nancy opened the Merrill Lynch office in Lewiston, Maine. In 2009, they founded Legacy Investments, built on vast corporate experience and desire to deliver a high level of personal service to clients across the US and abroad.

 

 

 

 

 

Nancy Callan, President, Director of Client Services

Nancy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Legacy Investments. Her specialties include working with clients to develop strategic financial solutions, overseeing securities transactions and building lasting advisory/client relationships. She takes personal and professional delight in helping clients invest wisely. Nancy began her career in the investment industry at Putnam Investments. From there she advanced to Financial Associate at A.G. Edwards, where she and Sophie, along with their families, became close friends. In 2006, she and Sophie opened the Merrill Lynch office in Lewiston, Maine, with Nancy serving as Financial Advisor and Senior Registered Client Associate. In 2009, she and Sophie pooled their talents to form Legacy Investments.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jillian Vaillancourt, Client Relationship Manager

Jillian joined Legacy Investments in November 2011 as our Client Relationship Manager. With over 8 years of customer service, marketing and management experience, she offers excellent attention to detail and has a strong desire to assist and build lasting relationships with our clients. She will be studying for her Series 66 and Series 7 exams. This will enable her to become a fully licensed Investment Advisor and will allow us to provide an even higher level of support to our clients. Jillian lives in Woolwich with her 8 year old son, Dylan and husband, Justin. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, camping and many other outdoor activities. Jillian attended the University of Maine.
